The first asteroid in modern times which is clearly visible from the Earth without the aid of a binoculars or a telescope, is the asteroid 2004- MN4. It has the size of 3 football grounds and is due to make its closest approach to the Earth at 10 p.m. (GMT) on Friday   13th June, 2029.There is a one in 60 chance of colliding with the Earth. The nearest galaxies to us are the small Magellanic Cloud and the large Magellanic Cloud. These are smaller than our Milky Way, and are only visible to the naked eye in southern skies.

To get the Ansari X-Prize, the manned, reusable spacecraft must be sent into space, twice within 2 weeks.

During the assembly of an Italian cargo carrier, space shuttle, Leonardo for the ISS, US Astronauts Jim Voss and Susan Helms established a new record of a spacewalk – 8 hours and 56 minutes on 11th March 2001.

Rocket engines burn fuel at an incredible rate. During lift off, the shuttle burns nearly 10 tonnes of fuel per second from its external fuel tank.

The Red planet-Mars has two moons. Both are tiny and very dark, and so they were not discovered until 1877. The largest is called Phobos. It is about 15 miles across and closest to its planet than any other moon. The smaller moon is called Delmos and is only 9.4 miles across.
