*     Introduction   Comprehension means 'Understanding'. In comprehension, you are given a passage and few questions to answer from that passage.     *    Answering questions to a given passage depends on the following abilities of a student: (i) How good you are in understanding the meaning of the entire passage; (ii) How good you are in finding the answers in the passage; (iii) How good you are in writing error free.     *    Points to keep in mind while doing comprehension
  • Read the given paragraph carefully and underline important points,
  • Read the questions one by one and try to find the answers in the passage.

*     Clip Art     Clip Art is a collection of readymade graphic images. These are available from many sources and range from simple symbols to elaborate drawings. By using Paint Brush you can create your own clipart images which can be used later.         *     To insert a Clip Art into your drawing perform the following steps:
  • Click Edit menu.
  • Select the Paste From option in the Edit menu.
  • Click the name of the graphic you want from the list of Clip Art.
  • Select OK. (The Clip Art appears in the top left corner of the screen).
  • Move the pointer onto the Clip Art.
  • Click and drag it to the position you want on the screen.

*   Use of More   Tools In addition to the tools used till now, Paint Brush offers some more tools and facilities which will improve the appearance of your drawing. Let us discuss then.     *    Colour Pencil Use the Pencil tool to draw thin, free form lines or curves. *    The Colour Palette     The colour palette can be seen under the main window of the Paint Brush application. The two squares set apart from the rest at the left end of the palette show the active colours, i.e. those which are presently in use. When you click on a colour in the palette with the left mouse button, the colour will be the primary or foreground colour (shown as pink in the example above). *  Printing     A copy of your drawing can be printed, either as a full image or as a section of the image. (See Figure 3.9.13)       *      To print an image performs the following steps:  
  • Select the Print option from the File menu.
  • The Print dialog box appears. Select the options you want (such as the number of copies and whole or partial image) and then select OK.

*     Saving a Drawing     You must save your picture frequently to ensure that you do not accidentally lose your work. To do that, on the File menu, click Save. This saves all of the changes you made to the picture since the last time you saved. The very first time that you save a new picture, you need to give your picture a file name.         *     The steps are the following:
  • On the File menu, click Save.
  • In the Save as type box, select the file format you want,
  • In the File name box, type a name.

*     Copying Parts of a Drawing     In case you are making a drawing of a garden, you need lots of flowers in it. After taking one flower, you can create copies of it to make a large number of flowers   * Steps to copy part of a drawing are the following:  
  • Select the Pick tool. Move the cursor into the drawing area.
  • Press and hold down the left mouse button to anchor one corner of the flexible box.
  • Drag the cursor until the box encloses the area you want to define (the dotted border shows the selected area).
  • Release the mouse button after enclosing the area.
  • Select the Copy option from the Edit menu.
  • Then select the Paste option from the Edit menu.

*         Cutting Parts of a Drawing     Sometimes, you may decide that you do not want some parts of the drawing and those should be removed. The Pick tool defines a rectangular cutout to perform this action. Once the tool has been selected, the shape can be 'picked out' and then cut.           *    To cut out a regular shaped part of a drawing perform the following steps:
  • Select the Pick tool.
  • Move the cursor into the drawing area.
