The 'Monster of Caspian Sea’ was the largest hydrofoil ever built, weighing 514 tonnes. It looked rather like a cross between an aeroplane and a hovercraft, travelling on the surface of water. At the speed of 500 KMPH. It is powered by ten turbines. It was completely destroyed in 1980 and has not been replaced since then.
