Introduction - It seems that India is destined to suffer- After many horrible events under the foreign rule we hoped to have relief alter Independence. But our expectation proved false and due to wrong Notions and erroneous actions of our leaders the country has known No peace. There has been periodical Hindu-Muslim riots and other. Tragedies like one In Assam. But the worst tragedy look place in Punjab-It has been shedding the blood of the Innocent people for no Fault of theirs.

Akali’s Mocha in Punjab. The Alkalis are doing their best to continue their morcha in Punjab which is not many years old. Alkalis repeatedly announced to keep U peaceful but Late Shri H.S. Longowal continued his agitation. Killing of innocent people Especially Nirankari was a part of the agitation. It broke the age old relations of both the communities, Hindus and Sikhs in the stale. The Murder of Mr. Atwal, D.I.G., Police, was a hateful crime. Such crime was not committed in the four hundred' years in the history of the Golden Temple. He had been a victim of a well-planned conspiracy.

Rift among Alkalis - Alkali morcha has proved very harmful for the nation and especially for Punjab. It has ruined industry. This Compelled business men to shill their business from Punjab lo the Neighboring states. Alkalis failed to run the mochas smoothly - A Division between Harcharan Singh Longowal. And Sikh leader Jar nail Singh Bhinderwala came into being. The rift was widened When Sikh Gurdwara Parbhandhak Committee (S.G.P.C.) President, Gurucharan Singh Tohra and Mr. Balwant Singh. Senior Akali leader rejected the offer made by the centre in connection with water dispute and territorial issues and also the future of Chandigarh; Abhor and Fazilka to the tribunals.

The demand of the Sikhs is to be dealt with keeping in view the good of the whole country and rejection of communal considerations.

Step to be taken. The water question should be referred to the Supreme Court-The army should be posted in Punjab after declaring Rashtrapati rule there .the-.Sikh community should assure the Government [hat what happened in the Gurdwaras in the past will not be repealed in the future. The demand for a separate personal Law and the demand that the Gurdwaras Act be extended to vast Control of Gurdwaras in the hands of those who allowed gross misuse Of Gurdwara should be turned down.

The National Front Government must restore confidence among the people of Punjab and take steps to restore popular Government In Punjab.

Conclusion. Whatever is to be done should be done impartially and effectively and not because Sikhs' footings are hurt.
