The 14th April, 2005 was a lucky day for me. On that very day, a series of events occurred one after the other in quick succession. All the events proved to be in my favour and gave me immense joy. It was therefore I declared that day the happiest day of my life.
I had participated in the National Mathematical Olympiad ft few months ago. I had done good no doubt but I was not sure of my brilliant success. On 14th April I got a letter in which I had been acknowledged that I had achieved first rank In the competition for which nice reward was waiting for me.
The information brought great pleasure for me and my family. I had really achieved brilliant success. All praised me and
gave me congratulations.
Just after a few hours, I got a courier. My joy knew no bounds when I opened it. I had obtained first rank in the National Level Science Talent Search Exam, held a few months ago. The courier carried not only the certificate but a CD of Britannica Encyclopedia as a prize. What a great achievement it was ! I was in high spirit.
On the very same Day I had to participate in an inter state debate competition. I went to the venue at 2 pm as the debate was to start at 2.30 p.m. My high spirits helped me here. I was doing superb in the debate. My arguments were very forceful and appealing, oration was highly commendable. Development was Systematic and response to the points of the opponents was laudable. All appreciated me whole heartedly. I was declared the best debater of the Day and awarded with a trophy and a certificate. It was really a moment of pride for me. I could not contain myself with joy.
I came back at house in the evening around 6 o'clock. No sooner did I put my steps at the door than my mother came almost running towards me to inform me that my father had got promotion for her honest and hard work. Her joy became doubled when I told her about my own grand success. I along with my family rejoiced the moments fully. My stars were really in my favour. It was perhaps therefore I got so many prizes and certificates along with cheers and congratulations.
That day I with my parents went to a hotel to enjoy a grand feast. In the night I could not sleep well. All the happy events of the day continued to come to my mind one after another and were making me excited. I can never forget the 14th April. It will always remain in my loving memory and will give me joy and confidence at every step of my life.
