Spirituality

A community ought to have spirituality as its 1 innermost soul. Many a times one is left guessing as to why religions cause fights? As we all know that religion can never cause any fight because it is intended to purify our consciousness. Religion means sacrifice and control and is a way of life.

Quarrels, on the other hand, are the result of expensive indulgence in material benefits and polluting consciousness. In fact, fights start because of communalism, and sadly we blame them on religion. The community which does not teach its followers to adopt spirituality and practise self-awareness can never help them to be successful in life.

The escalation of unethical values today is due to a disintegrated personality, which in turn is an outcome of communalism. Communities, these days, blindly pursue rituals. Unfortunately, communities merely stress on the performance of rituals while ethical and human value are totally ignored.

Thus, in spite of religion, immorality thrives. Had the emphasis been on morality first, religion would have found a more important position in society and in one's life. This is a big problem. Here, the morality one is referring to is not that which is predetermined. We are actually discussing morality which removes cruelty and awakens compassion in humans. If morality was clearly understood, things would have changed completely in India.

As long as the inclination towards greed is not reformed, cruelty will perpetuate and as long as cruelty is alive, man cannot be moral and as long as he is not moral, he cannot become religious. If our religious masters had taught this then perhaps the situation would have been altogether different.

This vital lesson has been ignored; one is only taught to worship and perform a lot of rituals. So many rituals have been imposed without a taboo on selfishness, greed, ego and dishonesty. By just performing rituals, one thinks that one has become a religious person.

One's personality remains split and disintegrated. As a whole, if you evaluate prekshadhyana, you will appreciate that this is purely a spiritual process, not the ritual of one community.

It means the process of perceiving within. It is a process of internal catharsis. It is necessary to clean within. As long as the dirt, dust and rubbish permeate within, one cannot remain healthy. The first process of gaining health is to perform the internal cleansing.

As long as we do not perceive within, catharsis will never take place. When a person perceives within, his internal cleansing begins, which ultimately integrates his personality and results outwardly in one being in the pink of health.

The doctrine for the development of an integrated and rounded-off personality is to follow two directions: one, to perceive the external, and the other, to look within with a view to making the soul more powerful.

Who Needs To Go Spiritual?

Many people are mistaken by thinking that only ascetics, hermits or preechers need to go spiritual. The truth is that every human being needs to go spiritual in order to get humane. The sensibilities and emotions are prime contributes of spirituality among human beings.
