India Wins an individual gold at last

Introduction. India is a vast country with population of over 1 crores. For many years India was in the clutches of foreign rule. The foreign   rulers did not allow the Indians to progress in any field, sports being t least.
Part glory of India. In the past, India has won gold medals in hockey. is many Olympics. However, it did not win any gold modal or silver  bronze in any other events. During the past, most of the families considered  sports to be a waste. They never allowed their children to join sports. Girl were totally not allowed. Thus, our people could not develop in this field. In spite of some people joining the sports sector, could not bring an  individual medal for the country, in the Olympics. Our great Milka Singh nick named 'Flying Sikh' came fourth in the race, during an Olympic  vent As days passed, girls too, joined the sports sector. At the National level there were at the top, but all of them failed at the Olympics. P.T. Usha, the great sprinter queen of India, was considered to be a sure win al the Olympics. She was the hope of millions of India. But alas, she too failed to strike a medal at the Olympics.
In the Olympics of 2004, one of the Indian girl bagged a bronze in weight lifting. Our hopes shined. We now thought that we too, can get medals in the Olympics.
Beijing Olympics (2008). Beijing Olympics (2008) was a turning point for India. Our players bagged three medals-one gold, one silver and one bronze. Avinash Bindra bagged the first individual gold for India, in shooting. He made the whole nation proud. We now thought that we too, can win gold medals. The other two medals, one silver and one bronze was bagged from boxing and wrestling respectively,    
Future plans. After winning the first individual gold medal many parents are allowing their children to join sports. The government too is starting new facilities for different types of sports. We hope to win many gold medals at the next Olympics which is going to be held in London.
