The Ever - Transforming Universe

Neither from nor towards: at a still point

There the dance is

But neither arrest nor movement

T.S. Eliot (Four Quartets)

The poetic insight of Eliot had a glimpse of the transcendental dimension of the ever-transforming universe at a still point, which in essence is akin to the experience of peace in meditation as well.

Neither from nor towards but at a still point the mind enters into a state of serene silence by deep power of harmony through a cosmic awareness of the unified field, and elevates itself to a serene and sublime super- consciousness in which the 'heavy and weary weight of all this unintelligible world is lightened' (William Wordsworth).

A spontaneous gliding into that state of being by deliberate suspension of animation is meditation—the seventh step in the eight-fold limbs of yoga as per sayings of the great exponent, Maharshi Patanjali.

The Vedanta observed that the whole lot of external as well as internal world of existence is the objective correlative of the non-dual Absolute.

The limited consciousness within the body-mind complex of the homo sapiens is intended to make a playful journey from the finite flesh to the infinite soul, from instinct to intellect (sodhi) and from myopic awareness to cosmic consciousness.

Life is a journey and not a destination as it has a supreme goal. In and through-the endless cyclic order of revolving happiness and sorrow we switch ourselves to the process of becoming through a total transformation of the finite being of a changeless, endless, timeless, infinite spirit behind the apparent vestures of manifestation. In a broader sense the whole life is but a process of meditation through a natural process of evolution.

The process of transformation is in-built in never ending evolution but an indomitable inner urge for the same can surely expedite the process and take us to an aircraft route from the natural bullock-cart movement.

When the flame of desire is extinguished after undergoing endless vicissitudes in life we realize the purposelessness of our earthy existence and glide into a state of meditation and follow a unique path of our own depending on our nature and capability. It can be a path of selfless service of humanity, searching discriminatory wisdom, self-effacement through divine love.

Thus, a comprehensive approach through karma, janam, yoga, and above all bhakti leads us from the apparent to real, flesh to spirit and the finite through the gateway of meditation.

Avoid Controversies

While writing essays on sensitive issues like communalism, woman, dalits etc., balance your views and avoid making controversial expressions. While writing these essays, keep humanity, brotherhood above all. Don't let the hatred or anger is visible in your writing.

While writing, take yourself to be a man of the nation, not of any specific community or religion. Remove all biases and prejudices from your heart's bottom and nourish love and brotherhood. Look for the well being of all, and then suggest some ways to the society to move forward in positive direction.
