Dussehra is a popular festival celebrated by Hindus all over India. It is also known as Vijayadashmi. It is celebrated in the month of October. It is celebrated all over India.

It is celebrated in the memory of Lord Rama. Lord Rama killed the demon-king, Ravana and won over Lanka, his kingdom. In other words, it signifies the triumph of good over evil.

Dusshera is celebrated for ten days. Many dramatic clubs play ramlila on Rama's life. Thousands of people gather to see the ramlila. We can learn many lessons from Ram Leela.

Big Effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhkaran are set fire on Dusshera day. The festival comes to an end after 'Bharat Milap'. Hindus call Lord Ram as MaryadaPurushotam.
