  The Hong Kong government has approved over $9 million for relief and rehabilitation work in cyclone-hit Odisha. The grants will benefit around 45,100 victims of “Fani cyclone” and will be used to provide hygiene kits, kitchen kits, water, education, household items and shelter kits.

  Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh have launched the IInd phase of Communicable Disease Control and Dastak Abhiyan 2019. The campaign is launched to eradicate deadly Acute Encephalitis Syndrome and Japanese Encephalitis disease. The state wide program was organized under the banner of Health department and UNICEF. Chief Minister flagged off the vehicles of awareness campaign and also honored the Dastak Yoddhas by awarding certificates.

  Tamil yeoman (Cirrochroa thais) butterfly has been declared the state butterfly of Tamil Nadu. These butterflies are also known as Tamil Maravan, which means warrior,  are found mainly in the hilly areas. Tamil Nadu is only the fifth state in the country to declare its state butterfly.

  BSES Yamuna Power Ltd launches behavioural energy saving app ‘Susthome’. The app was launched as part of its Demand Side Management programme. BSES partners with energy resources institute TERI, Panasonic India and the Council on Energy, Environment and Water to launch the app. The other two initiatives are “Green Division concept and solar micro grids with battery storage”.

  The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project which is one of the world’s largest multi stage and multi purpose lift irrigation scheme, was inaugurated by Telangana Chief Minister in Jayashankar-Bhupalapally district of Telangana. The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project envisages irrigation over 37 lakh acres of new and existing ayacut in 21 districts of the State.

  The Himachal Pradesh government makes mandatory for trekkers to carry a GPS device so that they can be provided all possible help in case of any emergency. According to the Himachal Pradesh government, as Himachal Pradesh being a disaster prone state, therfore
  • Kullu and Dalhousie have been identified for installation of early warning system.
  • Rampur and Mandi towns have been zeroed in for setting up the relief and rescue base of National Disaster Response Force.

  Unemployed youth having graduation or equivalent degree will be given unemployment allowance by Rajasthan government. Male applicants will get Rs 3,000/month, while the women and differently-abled will get Rs 3,500/month under Chief Minister Yuva Sambal Yojana from February this year. The applicants must be natives of Rajasthan and the amount will be given for two years or until they get employed.

  Assam government will set up a Skill University at the cost of 850 crore rupees at Darrang district. This will be perhaps the first skill university of the country with a capacity of 10 thousand seats. The International Yoga Day will be observed at 459 centers of the Skill Development Mission.
