 Invest India and the UAE Minister for Artificial Intelligence (AI) signed an MoU for India - UAE Artificial Intelligence Bridge in New Delhi. This partnership will generate an estimated USD 20 billion in economic benefits during the next decade for both countries.  The MoU was signed in the presence of Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu and H.E. Ahmad Sultan Al Falahi, Minister Plenipotentiary – Commercial Attache, UAE Embassy at the India leg of GovHack series of World Government Summit.

 Invest India and Business France have signed an MoU to promote investment facilitation and cooperationbetween startups of India and France. The goal will be to facilitate direct foreign investment by providing practical investment information to enterprises and support the companies. Invest India and Business France will collaborate to promote business and startup ecosystem cooperation through joint activities and exchange experiences to strengthen institutional knowledge and identify opportunities between businesses in the French and Indian private sector, creating a dedicated support structure to facilitate inbound companies and startups.

 India and Uganda signed four MoUs in various fields including the areas of defence, diplomatic ties, cultural exchange and material testing laboratory. The agreements were signed following the delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Kampala. 
Here are the MoUs signed between India and Uganda:
  • MoU on Defence Cooperation. 
  • MoU on Visa exemption for Diplomatic and official passport holders. 
  • MoU on Cultural Exchange Programme. 
  • MoU on Material Testing Laboratory.

     India and Rwanda signed eight agreements following delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rwandan President Paul Kagame in Kigali. The two countries signed agreements in the fields of Defence, Trade, Agriculture, Leather and allied products and Dairy.  India also extended two Lines of Credit of 100 million US dollars each – one for development of industrial parks and Kigali Special Economic Zone, and the other for three agricultural projects in Rwanda. Mr Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Rwanda on the first leg of his three-nation tour to Africa.

     Nearly two dozen Banks and Financial Institutions, including SBI and LIC, have signed the inter-creditor agreement (ICA) framework to speed up the resolution of stressed assets which are under the 500-crore rupee bracket. The framework is part of the Project SASHAKT, the report on bad bank drafted and submitted by the committee headed by Non-executive Chairman of PNB, Sunil Mehta. The objective of ICA is to resolve stressed assets fast, and will primarily focus on NPAs in the 50 crore to 500 crore bracket. The framework will deal separately with stressed assets of 500 to 2,000 crores or more. The agreement will also enable lenders to move expeditiously and protects their interest.

     A Statement of Intent (SoI) was signed between NITI Aayog and Lupin Foundation to collaborate in Aspirational Districts Programme. The SoI was signed by Yaduvendra Mathur, Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog and Sita Ram Gupta, Executive Director, Lupin Foundation.  The NITI Aayog and Lupin Foundation are collaborating to improve indicators in education, health & nutrition, financial inclusion and skill development, agriculture and water resources and basic infrastructure in Aspirational Districts of India. As per the terms of the SoI, Lupin Foundation, with the NITI Aayog, will work in three states - Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan to facilitate the creation of an ideal template to develop economic strength, technological viability and moral leadership across three districts in these states.

     India and Ghana signed two agreements in an effort to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar announced that two MOUs on Cultural Exchange Programme and on cooperation between Bureau of Indian Standards and Ghana Standards Authority were signed.

     Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of IT major, Infosys, signed an MoU with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) for the construction of a station at Konappana Agrahara in Electronics City. The station is under the second phase of Bangalore Metro's expansion plans and the Foundation has committed to maintaining it for the next 30 years. Infosys Foundation would contribute Rs 200 crore to the Bengaluru Metro Rail for the construction of Konappana Agrahara Metro Station and railway track.

     An agreement was signed between IIT Delhi and the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) under which projects would be launched that would aim to give “scientific validation” to the ancient medical science and integrate it with technology. The projects would be funded by the Ayush Ministry. Under the MoU, the faculties of IIT Delhi and AIIA will work together in the projects to look at ways to integrate technology with Ayurveda.

      The Union Cabinet has approved the signing of MoU amongst BRICS Nations on the Regional Aviation Partnership Cooperation (RAPC). The objective is that BRICS countries will benefit from the establishment of an institutional framework to cooperate in the field of civil aviation.  The MoU signifies an important landmark in the civil aviation relations between India and other BRICS Member States and has the potential to spur greater trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchanges amongst the BRICS Nations.
