On June 2004, 'Spaceship One', helmed by test pilot Mike Melville, became the first privately funded, manned craft to reach space. The venture cost around US $ 30 million, built by an aircraft designer Burt Rutan's company. It was financed by Microsoft's co-founder Paul Alien and got the first ever prize of US $ 10 million known as 'Ansari X-Prize' of the USA government. To get the Ansari X-Prize, the manned, reusable spacecraft must be sent into space, twice within 2 weeks.
