    B)  three-fourths majority of members present and voting

    C)  two-thirds majority of the Houses

    D)  absolute majority of the Houses

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Exp. [a] There are two occasions on which the joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament is convened.
    (i) Special Address by the President at the commencement of the first session after each general election to the House of the people and to commencement of the first session of each year, the President shall address both the Houses of Parliament assembled together.
(ii) For resolving any deadlock over the Passage of a Bill?(Article-108).
There are three situations which can lead to a deadlock between two Houses of Parliament.
    (i) If the Bill is rejected by the other House.
(ii) If the House have finally disagreed as to the amendments to be made in the Bill.
(iii) If more than six months have elapsed from the date of the receipt of the Bill by the other House without the Bill being passed by it. In the above three situations, the President can summon both the
