Which of the following compounds does not give two isomer compounds on reaction with \[N{{H}_{2}}OH?\]

    A)  \[C{{H}_{3}}CO{{C}_{2}}{{H}_{5}}\]

    B)  \[C{{H}_{3}}COC{{H}_{3}}\]

    C)  \[C{{H}_{3}}CHO\]

    D)  \[PhCOC{{H}_{3}}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Aldehydes and ketones react with hydroxyl  amine \[(N{{H}_{2}}OH)\] to give oxime. These oxime show syn and and geometrical isomerism. But the oxime of symmetrical ketones (those ketone in which carbonyl group is attached to same alkyl group) do not show this isomerism due to the presence of two same alkyl     groups. Therefore, \[C{{H}_{3}}COC{{H}_{3}}\]does not form two isomers on reaction with \[N{{H}_{2}}OH.\]
