    On passing \[{{\text{H}}_{\text{2}}}\text{S}\]gas in acidic medium in a mixture of \[\text{C}{{\text{u}}^{2+}}\] and \[\text{N}{{\text{i}}^{\text{2+}}}\text{,}\]only \[\text{C}{{\text{u}}^{\text{2+}}}\]will be precipitated as \[\text{CuS}\text{.}\] \[\text{N}{{\text{i}}^{2+}}\]will not be precipitated because its sulphide has much higher value of solubility product.
