    Solution :

    The image of an object formed by a plane mirror is at a perpendicular distance behind the mirror equal to the distance of object in front of the mirror. Thus, distance of object from the image is twice of object distance from mirror. Hence, required distance \[=2\times 0.5\] = 1 m Note: As image is formed behind the mirror, so it cannot be obtained on a screen. Or we can say that image formed by a plane mirror is virtual.
