    A) 40

    B) 38

    C) 36

    D)        34

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Prokaryotic cells have a net yield of 38 ATP molecules per glucose molecule because they do not have to spent two ATP molecules to transport electrons from NADPH into mitochondria and in eukaryotic cells 36 ATP are produced during aerobic respiration. Out o: 36 ATP molecules two are produced outside mitochondria and 34 inside mitochondria.
