Suppose the number of turns in a coil be tripled, the value of magnetic flux linked with it:

    A)  remains unchanged

    B)  becomes 1/3

    C)  is tripled

    D)  none of these.

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Magnetic flux due to a circular coil having n turns is given by \[\text{o }\!\!|\!\!\text{ =}\,\text{B}\times A\] \[=\frac{{{\mu }_{0}}ni}{2r}\times A=\frac{{{\mu }_{0}}iA}{2r}\times n\]                 \[\Rightarrow \]               \[\text{o }\!\!|\!\!\text{ = Kn}\]                 where                   \[K=\frac{{{\mu }_{0}}iA}{2r}\] Now if n is tripled, then magnetic flux linked with the coil \[\phi \] will be tripled.
