    Addisons disease is caused by deficiency of mineralocorticoids as a result of undersecretion (hypocarticism) by adrenal cortex. The disease, first described by Thomas Addison (1849,1855)  leads to ionic imbalance resulting in hypoglycoemia, low blood pressure, hypertension and weakness.
