    The Trans-Siberian railway is the largest of the world.
    (i) It covers a total distance of 9280 km and extends St. Petersburg in European Russia to Vladivostok in Asiatic Russia.
    (ii) The most important towns, cities, ports located along this railway line are St. Petersburg, Moscow, Omsk, Tumsk, Vladivostok etc.
    (iii) The railway helps in procuring raw materials and distribution of industrial products to various markets, towns and ports. The raw materials mainly include timber, coal, mineral resources such as iron ore, manganese, copper, bauxite etc.
    (iv) This railway connects the remote areas of Siberia with the industrial areas of European Russia. Hence this has helped in industrial and economic growth.
