    Exp. [c] A Geographical Indication (GI) is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin. Government of India enacted Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act in 1999, which came into force in 2003. Banaras Brocades and Sarees Banaras is one of the rich weaving craft centres of India, famous for Brocade sarees and all over dress material. Exclusive varieties of the sarees are Jangia, Tanchoi, Vaskat, Cutwork, Tishu, and Butidar which are made of silk warp and silk weft. Tirupathi Laddu The world famous 'Tirupathi Laddu' is given at Tirumala Temple as Prasadam. Tirupathi Laddu had got Geographical Indication tag which entitles only Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams to make or sell it. Rajasthani Daal-Bati-Churma It is a complete dish and very popular in Rajasthan. Traditional way to serve it is to first coarsely mash the Bati then pour pure Ghee on top of it. It is served with the Daal (lentils) and spicy garlic chutney. Rajasthani Daal-Bati-Churma has not secured GI status till date. Hence, option [c] is correct.
