    Exp. [b] Statement 1 is incorrect. The Chairman of Rajya Sabha is the Vice-President. However, the Deputy Chairman is a Member of the Rajya Sabha and is elected from among them. Statement 2 is correct. The electoral college in the presidential election consists of only the elected Members, of the Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies. The Vice-Presidential election however has as part of its electoral college all the Members of the Parliament, whether elected or nominated.
