    Solution :

    Let fraction \[=\frac{x}{y}\]then, \[\frac{x}{y+4}=\frac{1}{2}\] \[2x=y+4\] \[2x-y=4\]                                 ? (1) and       \[\frac{x-5}{y}=\frac{1}{8}\] \[8x-40=y\] \[8x-y=40\]                                ? (2) On solving eq. (1) and (2)? x=6 and y=8 Hence, fraction is\[=\frac{6}{8}\]
