    Let the number be x. According to the question, \[x\times \frac{38}{100}-x\times \frac{24}{100}=135.10\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[x\left( \frac{38-24}{100} \right)=135.10\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[x=\frac{135.10\times 100}{14}=965\] Now, 40% of \[965=965\text{ }x-40-=386\]
