    In \[{{C}_{4}}\]-plants \[C{{O}_{2}}\] combines with phosphoenol pyruvic acid to form oxaloacetic acid in mesophyll chloroplasts. It is further reduced to malic acid which transferred to chloroplast in bundle sheath cells.
