    Solution :

    For force on a particle in a magnetic field is given by \[F=q\,\upsilon \,B\] The force is same on both the particles i.e. on proton and \[\text{-}\]particles. Hence, \[{{q}_{\alpha }}{{\upsilon }_{\alpha }}B={{q}_{p}}{{\upsilon }_{p}}B\] \[\therefore \]  \[\upsilon \alpha =\frac{{{q}_{p}}{{\upsilon }_{p}}}{q\alpha }=\frac{{{\upsilon }_{p}}}{2}=\frac{\upsilon }{2}\,\,\,\,\,(\therefore {{\upsilon }_{p}}=\upsilon \])
