NEET NEET SOLVED PAPER 2014

  • question_answer
Following figures show the arrangement of bar magnets in different configurations. Each magnet has magnetic dipole moment m. Which configuration has highest net magnetic dipole moment? [AIPMT 2014]
    (i)
    (ii)
    (ii)
    (iv)

    A)  (i)

    B)  (ii)

    C)  (iii)

    D)  (iv)

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Magnetic moment is from 5 to N \[{{m}_{net}}=\sqrt{{{m}^{2}}+{{m}^{2}}+2{{m}^{2}}\cos \theta }\] \[{{m}_{net}}\] will be maximum if cos6 is maximum. \[\cos \theta \]  will be maximum when q will be minimum. So, at \[\theta ={{30}^{\text{o}}}\,{{m}_{net}}\] will be maximum.
