प्रत्येक जीवित प्राणी से एकात्मकता का भाव बिना आत्मशुद्धि के असंभव है और बिना आत्मशुद्धि के अहिंसा के नियम का पालन एक दिवा स्वप्न रह जाएगाः ईश्वर की अनुभूति उसे ही हो सकती है, जो हृदय से शुद्ध हो। इसलिये आत्मशुद्धि का अर्थ जीवन के प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में शुद्धता है। आत्मशुद्धि संक्रामक है।
