  • question_answer
To obtain aminoacids and other organic compounds, Stanley Miller and Urey used in his experiment :

    A)  mixture of \[{{O}_{2}},{{N}_{2}},C{{H}_{4}}\]and\[{{H}_{2}}O\]

    B)  mixture of \[N{{H}_{3}},{{H}_{2}},{{N}_{2}}\]and \[{{H}_{2}}O\]

    C)  mixture of \[{{H}_{2}},N{{H}_{3}},C{{H}_{4}},\] and \[{{H}_{2}}O\]

    D)  mixture of \[{{H}_{2}},{{O}_{2}},C{{O}_{2}}\]and \[{{H}_{2}}O\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Stanley Miller and Urey in 1953 put a mixture of ammonia, hydrogen and methane in an  electric  chamber connected with an inlet for water steam \[({{H}_{2}}0)\]. After sparking and condensing of mixture, he get a solution containing glycerine, alanine, (\[\text{ }\!\!\beta\!\!\text{ }\]-alanine aspartic acid, amino - n-butyric add etc.
