The graph of an object's motion (along the x-axis) is shown in the figure. The instantaneous velocity of the object at points A and B are \[{{v}_{A}}\]and \[{{v}_{B}}\] respectively. Then   JEE Main Online Paper (Held On 07 May 2012)

    A) \[{{v}_{A}}={{v}_{B}}=0.5m/s\]

    B)                        \[{{v}_{A}}=0.5m/s<{{v}_{B}}\]

    C)                        \[{{v}_{A}}=0.5m/s>{{v}_{B}}\]

    D)                        \[{{v}_{A}}={{v}_{B}}=2m/s\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

                    Instantaneous velocity \[v=\frac{\Delta x}{\Delta t}\] Fromgraph.\[{{v}_{A}}=\frac{\Delta {{x}_{A}}}{\Delta {{t}_{A}}}=\frac{4m}{8s}=0.5m/s\] and\[{{v}_{B}}=\frac{\Delta {{x}_{B}}}{\Delta {{t}_{B}}}=\frac{8m}{16s}=0.5m/s\] i.e.,\[{{v}_{B}}={{v}_{B}}=0.5m/s\]
