The antheridial branch of Funaria is called male flower. The mature antheridium is club shaped and orange coloured. It is shortly multicellular, stalked. The body of the antheridium consists of a jacket layer one cell in thickness. The cells contain chloroplasts. Within the jacket is a mass of sperm producing cells.
