  • question_answer
    Angle of banking tor a vehicle speed of 10 m/s for a radius of curvature 10 m is (assume\[g=10\text{ }m/{{s}^{2}}\]) :

    A) \[30{}^\circ \]

    B) \[{{\tan }^{-1}}\left( \frac{1}{2} \right)\]

    C) \[60{}^\circ \]

    D) \[45{}^\circ \]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

                     Angle of banking is given by \[\tan \theta =\frac{{{v}^{2}}}{rg}\]where\[v\]is velocity, r the radius of circular path and g acceleration due to gravity. Given, \[v=10\text{ }m/s,\text{ }r=10\text{ }m,\text{ }g=10\text{ }m/{{s}^{2}}\] \[\therefore \]  \[\tan \theta =\frac{10\times 10}{10\times 10}=1\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[\theta ={{45}^{o}}\]
