  • question_answer
Two bodies arc projected from ground with equal speed 20 m/s from the same position in the same vertical plane to have equal range but at different angles above the horizontal. If one of the angle is 30° the sum of their maximum heights is (assume \[g=10\text{ }m/{{s}^{2}}\]) :

    A)  400 m

    B)  20 m

    C)  30 m

    D)  40 m

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

                     Maximum height attained is given by \[{{h}_{\max }}=\frac{{{u}^{2}}}{2g}\] Given,     \[u=20\text{ }m/s\]                 \[{{h}_{\max }}=\frac{{{(20)}^{2}}}{2\times 10}=20\,m\] For the second body also \[{{h}_{\max }}=20m\] Sum of maximum heights\[=20\text{ }m+20\text{ }m\]    \[=40m\]
