    If the length of rod A is \[3.25\text{ }\pm \text{ }0.01\text{ }cm\]and that of B is \[4.19\text{ }\pm \text{ }0.01\text{ }cm,\] then the rod B is longer than rod A by :

    A) \[0.94\text{ }\pm \text{ }0.00\text{ }cm\]

    B)  \[0.94\text{ }\pm \text{ }0.01\text{ }cm\]

    C) \[0.94\text{ }\pm \text{ }0.02\text{ }cm\]

    D)  \[0.94\text{ }\pm \text{ }0.005\text{ }cm\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

                     Given, length of rod A is\[{{L}_{A}}=3.25\pm 0.01\]of B is\[{{L}_{B}}=4.19\pm \text{ }0.01\] Then, the rod B is longer than rod A by a length \[\Delta l={{L}_{B}}-{{L}_{A}}\]   \[\Delta l=(4.19\pm 0.01)-(3.25\pm 0.01)\] \[\Delta l~=(0.94\pm 0.02cm)\]
