According to Bohrs postulate which of the following take discrete value?

    A)  Kinetic energy

    B)  Potential energy

    C)  Angular momentum

    D)  Linear momentum

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

From Bohrs postulate electrons can revolve only in those orbits in which their angular momentum is an integral multiple of\[\frac{h}{2\pi },\]where h is Plancks constant. If n is mass of eletron and it be revolving with velocity v in an orbit of radius r, then its angular momentum will be\[mvr\]. According to this postulate\[mvr=\frac{nh}{2\pi }=J\]where h is an integer. Thus, angular momentum takes discrete values.
