                     Perithecium (ascocarp) is flask-shaped and duply sunk in cavities or locules in the cortical area of the stroma. It has a definite apical pore, ostiole through which the ascospores escape. It is common in class ascomycetes (including Aspergillus, Sphaerothea etc.) -Calletotrichum is included in class euteromycetes (fungi imperfecti). Sexual reproduction is absent here.
