    D) A-3         B-2         C-1         D-4

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Apospory is the development of gametophyte from vegetative parts of sporophyre without intervention of spores. Goebel (1907) and Palta (1973) induced the formation of prothalli from the petiole and laminar surface of the pinnae in Pteris vittata. - Endosperm in gymnosperms develop before fertilization therefore it is haploid. - The venter accompanied the growth of embryo by forming a protective covering around the embryo in Funaria. This enlarged venter is called calyptra. - The plant-body of Cycas is sporophytic. Each ovule is enclosed in a thick coat the integument. The tissue within the integument is called the nucellus. It constitutes the body of the ovule.
