In Pheretima the glands that help in binding the worms during copulation are:

    A)  Prostate glands

    B)  Albumin glands

    C)  Accessory glands

    D)  Mucous glands

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

In each of the segment 17th and 19th is found a pair of rounded, white, flushy masses of accessory glands, one on the either side of nerve cord. They open to the exterior by a number of ducts on 2 pairs of genital papillae situated externally upon the 17th and 19th segments. Their secretion probably helps in uniting the two worms during copulation.
