  • question_answer
If the internal energy of\[{{n}_{1}}\]moles of Heat temperature 10 T is equal to the internal energy of\[{{n}_{2}}\] mole of hydrogen at temperature 6T. The ratio of \[{{n}_{1}}\]/\[{{n}_{2}}\] is

    A)  3/5

    B)  2

    C)  1

    D)  5/3

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    The internal energy of a gas is given by \[U=n{{C}_{V}}T\] Since, \[{{U}_{He}}={{U}_{{{H}_{2}}}}\] So \[{{n}_{He}}{{C}_{V}}{{T}_{He}}={{n}_{{{H}_{2}}}}{{C}_{V}}{{T}_{{{H}_{2}}}}\] For He. the value of Cy \[{{C}_{V}}=\frac{5}{2}R\] For H, the valve of \[{{C}_{V}}\] \[{{C}_{V}}-\frac{3}{2}R\] \[\therefore {{n}_{He}}\times \frac{3}{2}R\times 10T={{n}_{H}}\times \frac{5}{2}\times 6T\] or \[\frac{{{n}_{He}}}{{{n}_{H}}}=1\] or \[\frac{{{n}_{1}}}{{{n}_{2}}}=1\]
