The infective stage of Plasmodium vivax is

    A)  sporozoite

    B)  gametocyte

    C)  trophozoite

    D)  cryptozoite

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

the infective stage of Plasmodium vivax is sporozoite. The cytoplasm segregates into any tiny masses, each around a nucleus. Within next 2 or 3 days each cytoplasmic mass becomes elongated and spindle-shaped. Together with its nucleus, it now projects into the adjacent vacuole. These spindle-shaped bodies are called sporozoite. The micro-metacryptozoite after escaping into the blood stream invades the erythrocytes. After entry each become rounded and called  trophozoite. Arrer a number of repeated erythrocytic cycles the trophozoite does not proceed ahead with multiplication but somehow passes into vessels fo spleen or bone marrow. After some time, it covers the complete RBCs and now called gametocyte.
