    Tapetum is the innermost layer of the wall of pollen sac. The tapetum is nutritive in function. The tapetal cells are mul contain ubish bodies. Epidermis is the outermost layer of the wall of pollen sac. It is protective in function. During the development of anther each archesporial initial divides into an outer primary parietal cell and inner primary sporogenous cell. The primary sporogenous cells devide to produce a mass of sporogenous cells or microsporocytes. Each microspore mother cell  of  microsporocyte  devide meiotically to form four haploid microspores. Respiration takes place in cells of the tissue i.e., cells of tapetum, epidermis, middle layer, endothecium etc.
