    Acquired immunity is due to:

    A)  physiological and inflammatory barrier

    B)  lymphocytes

    C)  erythrocytes

    D)  NK cells

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

The resistance that an individual acquires during life is called acquired immunity. Two major group of cells i.e., lymphocyres (B and T-lymphocytes) and antigen presenting cells are involved in acquired immunity. The resistance which an individual possesses by virtue of his/her genetic and constitutional make up to in fection, is called innate immunity. Innate immunity consists of four types of barriers i.e., anatomical   physiological, phagocytic and inflammatory. NK cells (Natural Killer cells) also provide innate immunity. These cells kill virus infected and some tumour cells. Erythrocytes (Red blood corpuscles) take part in transport of \[{{O}_{2}}\] due to presence of haemoglobin.
