Siphoning type of mouth parts occur in butter-flies and moths. Biting and chewing type of mouth parts occurs in cockroach and grasshopper. The mandibles are toothed and are used for crushing food. Mosquitoes and bugs have piercing and sucking type of mouth parts. Mandibles, first pair of maxillae and hypopharynx are needle like and take part in piercing.
