    Myxoedema is caused by dficiency of thyroid hormone in adults. This disease is characterised by puffy appearance due to accumulation of fat in the sub-cutaneous tissue because of low metabolic rate. Hypoparathyroidism is caused by the deficiency of parathormone. It causes the lowering of blood calcium level. This disorder is also called parathyroid tetany. Cushings syndrome is caused by excess of cortisol (adrenal hormone) which may be due to tumour of the adrenal cortex. Diabetes insipidus is caused by deficiency of antidiuratic hormone. It is characterised by excessive excretion of dilute urine.
