    In photosynthesis there is:

    A)  reduction of \[{{H}_{2}}O\]

    B)  oxidation of \[{{H}_{2}}O\]

    C)  oxidation of \[C{{O}_{2}}\]

    D)  oxidation of \[N{{O}_{2}}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

During light reaction of photosynthesis \[{{H}_{2}}O\] molecules are oxidised into \[{{H}^{+}}\]and \[O{{H}^{-}}\]in presence of enzyme complex. \[4{{H}_{2}}O\xrightarrow[light]{M{{n}^{+}},C{{l}^{-}}}4{{H}^{+}}4O{{H}^{-}}\] \[4O{{H}^{-}}\xrightarrow{{}}2{{H}_{2}}O+{{O}_{2}}+4e\] \[C{{O}_{2}}\] is reduced during dark reaction x photosynthesis and hexose sugar is formed.
