    B)  Epinephrin and nor-epinephrin

    C)  Thyroxine and melanin

    D)  Lactocin and oxytocin

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Pancreas is a mixed gland in which pancreatic acini are exocrine and Islets of Langerhans are endocrine. Islets of Langerhans consist of following three parts : (i) \[\alpha \]-cells, which produce glucagon hormone. (ii) \[\text{ }\!\!\beta\!\!\text{ }\]-cells which produce insulin hormone. (iii) \[\gamma \]- cells which produce somatostaun hormone. Epinephrin and non-epinephrine are   secreted by adrenal medulla. Both these hormone act on the cells of skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscles and blood vessels and fat cells. Thyroxin hormone is secreted by thyroid gland. It regulates metabolic rate of the body, increases heat production, help in metamorphosis of tadpole and increase action of neurotransmitters. Oxytocin hormone is secreted by posterior lobe of pituitary gland. It promotes contraction of uterine muscles and contraction of myoepithelial cells of the lactating breast, squeezing milk into the large ducts behind the nipple.
