    Osphradium is a leaf-shaped, flat olfactory organ in some Mollusca like Pila. It is chemoreceptor which help in testing the physical and chemical qualities of the entering water and aids in the selection of food. The osphradium arises from the mantle adjacent to the left nuchal lobe and situated on the left side of the pulmonary chamber. Tangoreceptors are respond to touch and pressure e.g., Merkels disc, Meissners corpuscles. Thermoreceptors are respond to temperature. Photoreceptors are respond to light e.g., rods and cones of retina of vertebrate eye.
