Spores with chloroplast is present in :

    A)  Selaginella

    B)  Equisetum

    C)  Puccinia

    D)  Rhizopus

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

The spores of Equisetum when young are green and covered by a thin wall of cellulose. At maturity they are relatively larger, rounded and contain numerous chloroplasts. In Selaginella the microspores and megaspores both contain fatty substances, oils, nitrogenous materials in cytoplasm but lack chloroplast. Fungi are achlorophyllous, nonvascular thallophyta. These are heterotrophic eukaryotes. Their body is not differentiated into root, stem and leaves, e.g., Puccinia Rhizopus, Yeast etc.
