    B)  xerophytes

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Mangrooves are halophytic plants, grow in marshy places. They have negatively geotrophic roots called respiratory roots or pneumatophores. Which helps in gaseous exchange as in Rhizophora, Avicennia. Hydrophytes have less developed root e.g., Trapa. Some hydrophyte are without roots e.g., Wolfia. Xerophytes are plants which grow in dry soil. Roots are well developed in xerophytes. Mesophytes are plants which grow in moderate environment condition like mango.
