Adjacent epithelial cells are held together by :

    A)  liposomes

    B)  lysosomes

    C)  microsome

    D)  desmosomes

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Epithelial tissue forms lining and covering. The cells forming epithelial tissue lie close to each other. These cells are connected to each other by butten like junction made up of tonofibrils known as desmosomes or macula adherens. When tissues or cells are disrupted by homogenisation, the ER is fragmented into many small vesicles called microsomes. Lysosomes are found in animal cell. It is also known as suicidal bag.
